SOCIALLY AND ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION
It is important to us that our products do not only look beautiful, but that they are also produced in a socially and ecologically responsible manner. We have a long-term, family-like relationship with our partner-company who produces our bags in North-East India. It´s a small, family-owned company, that grew together with us. While having developed a good level of trust with our partner, we visit them on a regular basis to audit the complete supply chain. It is important to us that people who are part of our manufacturing process profit from its economic benefits as we ensure their safety and good working conditions. Besides the economic benefits for our partner-company, it is self-evident to us that the environment should not be harmed during the production. In addition to the strict standards and regulations regarding waste disposal, we take care that the disposal of chemicals needed to tan the leather is done in the appropriate way. We feel the responsibility to respect and protect the natural world without damaging it.
Our bags are made from high quality, natural materials. We use real leather and cotton to produce beautiful, premium bags that only look better over time. Our quality insurance team checks every single bag before sending them out, to ensure the quality of the products. Products that don´t match our standard, we don´t throw away, but we find a second life for them. For our vegan customers, we also have a selection of products in the typical Fitz & Huxley design, but where the leather is replaced by cotton.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY SHIPPING
We care about sustainability and our goal is to minimize waste during production and shipping. We cooperate with DHL GoGreen for climate-neutral shipping to make sure that your order does not only reach its destination quickly and securely, but to also contribute towards climate protection. We ship our products in a box made from 40% regional grass and 60% recycled paper. The carton is 100% recyclable and additionally saves energy, water and greenhouse gases in comparison to conventional fresh paper fibre production.
Your bag has been your partner in crime on many urban adventures? We make our products as durable as we can by using strong materials in a seasonless design, but it´s possible that after a while you want a bit of a change. Therefore, we offer colourful cords and buckle replacements, so you can use your Fitz & Huxley for years.

It can happen that during production some products end up with little beauty flaws, such as tiny scratches in the leather or small stains on the canvas. Rather than throwing these products out, we choose not to waste the materials and instead find them a second life. Most often we sell these “Class B Products” at local Christmas and Designer markets to customers for a reduced price. However, we always reserve a portion of our Class B Products to donate to people who would be happy with a new backpack, but don´t have the means to buy one themselves.
